This pair of French iron garden chairs dates from the mid-20th century. Each has a light, curving frame with a rounded back and three slender vertical supports, while the circular seats are formed from an openwork metal lattice designed to imitate traditional caning. Their deep green painted finish has weathered attractively, with areas of oxidation and wear giving the surfaces plenty of garden charm. One seat has areas of broken latticework and, in their present condition, the chairs are best considered for decorative use, whether holding potted plants on a terrace or simply adding character and a sense of history to a garden corner.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
