This pair of French painted iron garden tables dates from the early to mid-20th century. Each has a shaped square top raised on a light, curving iron tripod base, with elegantly bowed supports joined by a small circular stretcher and a simple cross-form foot. The white painted finish has weathered naturally over time, particularly along the legs and edges, where areas of oxidation and exposed metal give the bases a pleasingly aged appearance. The tops show scratches, marks and staining consistent with outdoor use, adding to their informal garden character.
It is particularly appealing to find a matching pair, allowing them to be used symmetrically or placed at different points around a terrace or conservatory. Their height and compact proportions make them especially well suited as plant stands, but they could equally well serve as small side tables beside garden chairs or a bench. Used together, they bring a light architectural rhythm to an outdoor setting while retaining the relaxed character of well-used French garden furniture.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
