A pair of petite Italian ceramic table lamps signed Sarti Roma, circa 1950, modeled as playful pineapples. The glossy white glaze highlights the crisp, diamond-patterned relief, complemented by cream fabric drum shades with delicate fringe. Recently rewired for European standards.
The bases show a few small chips consistent with age, while remaining in very good overall condition; the vintage shades display gentle timeworn patina with minor spotting and slight edge discoloration, enhancing their mid-century charm.
This stylised fruit form speaks to the joyful and decorative language of mid century Italian design, where organic shapes were rendered with both wit and sophistication. Pineapples, long symbols of welcome, were a popular decorative theme in postwar lighting. Ideal for nightstands, they provide soft, ambient light while adding a charming, sculptural accent to both classic and contemporary interiors.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
