Small French Moustache-Back Club Chair, Circa 1930–1940

A stylish 1930s-40s French club chair upholstered in rich Havana brown leather. Its classic moustache-shaped back, rolled cigar arms, and compact proportions lend it the timeless appeal of Art Deco seating while remaining wonderfully versatile for contemporary interiors. Carefully restored using old leather where needed, the chair retain a beautifully consistent patina and authentic character. The seat remains supple and comfortable, while the back offer excellent support. Condition is very good, with gentle wear consistent with age and use, including light scuffing and rubbing to the arms and corners, and natural creasing to the seat cushions.

The intimate proportions and relatively narrow seating width between the armrests make it particularly well suited to smaller spaces such as apartments, libraries, bedrooms, or cozy sitting rooms. 

Warm and inviting, this chair styles beautifully beside a fireplace, in a study, or layered into both refined and rustic interiors. The tobacco-toned leather pairs effortlessly with oak furniture, antique rugs, brass lighting, and textured natural materials.
