This pair of small Italian chandeliers, dating from the postwar period, has a delicate, almost botanical structure worked in cut and shaped metal. Three candle arms extend from a compact central body, while slender scrolling stems rise above them in loose arcs, terminating in small glass rosettes. Each arm is individually dressed with applied metal leaves, giving the framework a layered, hand-worked quality. Clear crystal teardrop pendants are suspended throughout, creating lightness and movement around the darker metalwork.
The metal has developed a deep, softly oxidized patina, with warm brown and bronze tones. The crystal drops show the slight variation and occasional minor irregularities expected with vintage lighting, but remain lively and decorative.
Their modest scale is part of their charm: they feel intricate rather than imposing, and as a pair they would bring balance and rhythm above a long dining table or kitchen island, or create a more intimate symmetry when hung over bedside tables.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
