A vintage pair of clear-glass carafes from the salon at Chanteduc, part of Patricia Wells’s glassware collection. Formed in thick, transparent glass, each has a slender body and gently flared, rolled rim. Subtle air bubbles and a light waviness catch the light. “These are perfect for serving water at the dining table,” she recalls, and she admits they are “a favorite pair, difficult to part with.” For service, chill and fill with eau fraîche, slices of citron, or a sprig of garden mint. They are equally at home beside a bed as a carafe d’eau, holding cut herbs in the cuisine, or gathered on a buffet for convivial meals.
