This petite 1930s Art Deco teapot from Apt, Provence, presents a crisp geometric silhouette with a faceted, chamfered body and a squared open handle. Made of earthenware in the “terres mêlées” or agateware technique, where mixed clays are marbled together to create a fluid, organic pattern, it displays rich swirls of amber, ochre, cream, and black. The contrasting cream-glazed handle, spout, and faceted knop provide a striking visual balance to the darker, lustrous body. Unmarked, it retains a glossy surface and remains in good condition, with a small chip to the spout tip and light staining to the handle and spout.
