A petite French carafe in blown and enameled glass from the Belle Époque, circa 1900. Such small carafes were traditionally used for cordials or scented waters. The well-proportioned spherical body rises from a low circular foot to a slender neck with a delicate pouring lip and an applied ribbed handle, topped by a teardrop-shaped stopper. A soft pink to amethyst tint glows through delicate hand-painted floral sprays, the enamels in milky white with tiny butter-yellow accents. The surface shows a gentle silvery bloom and light rippling in the glass, evidence of its hand-blown origin and age. Condition shows light wear to the enamels, a faint interior haze, and a tiny rim flake at the mouth visible on close inspection. The stopper retains faint traces of old contents.
Easy to place, it can be set on a vanity tray with perfumes, on a bedside table as a small water carafe, or displayed with a grouping of antique glass. It also serves beautifully as a single-stem vase, lending a romantic accent to a dressing room, powder room, or dining room console.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
