A charming petite French sunburst mirror, dating from the 1950s. The circular mirror plate is framed by a corona of individually hand-cut tole leaves, each delicately pressed with crisp veining and arranged around a twisted rope border and a scalloped inner surround. The original black-painted finish has developed a beautifully timeworn patina, enriched by scattered oxidation, while the mirror plate displays light surface scratches and minor staining consistent with age.
It works beautifully above a washstand, petite console, or bedside table, where its softly aged finish and dark foliate silhouette introduce a subtle note of contrast and patina, sitting effortlessly alongside antiques, natural materials, and contemporary pieces alike.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
