Petite French Cat and Dog Vintage Garden Ornament in Concrete - 6¼"

This charming small garden sculpture depicts a dog and cat engaged in a lively, playful interaction, giving the piece a wonderful sense of movement and character. Probably dating from the later 20th century, it appears to be cast in concrete or reconstituted stone, with moulded details defining the animals’ expressive faces, fur and paws. Its pale surface has developed an attractive outdoor patina, with traces of lichen and darker weathering caught in the recesses. Minor surface wear and irregularities are consistent with age and exposure to the elements. 

Its small scale and animated subject give the sculpture a charming sense of spontaneity, while years of outdoor exposure have softened and mottled the surface with a naturally weathered patina.
