Petite French Green-Glazed Earthenware Kitchen Pot, Mid-20th Century - 4¼"

This petite French kitchen pot was made in southwestern France and dates from the mid-20th century. Its compact cylindrical body rises to a short neck and gently flared rim, giving the simple form a pleasing sense of proportion. The upper section is covered in a rich green glaze, while the lower half is left unglazed, creating a strong graphic contrast between the glossy color and the warm, matte earthenware beneath. A few old chips and some staining are visible to the interior glaze, consistent with age and use.

Made as a practical household vessel for storing or serving jam, honey or other condiments, its appeal today lies in the clarity of its form and the rustic character of the materials.
