Two petite handmade ceramic baskets from Bassano, Italy, each finished in a soft white glaze with openwork sides and a rope-twist rim and foot. Oval in form with softly contoured sides, they reflect the refined decorative sensibility favored by Bassano workshops, a tradition renowned since the Renaissance for refined earthenware and later maiolica. Dating from the mid-20th century, both are signed “Bassano” with a model number under the base. Presented as a graduated pair in two sizes, in very good condition with minor glaze irregularities typical of the craft. Two sets available.
Graceful and versatile, they bring lightness and texture to a table or console. Ideal for presenting cherries, raspberries, or cherry tomatoes, or used as a small centerpiece with flowers, they can also hold guest soaps or small toiletries in a bathroom, or serve on a nightstand for jewelry and nighttime essentials. Their quiet white glaze is highly versatile, pairing easily with rustic pottery as well as more formal pieces, and lending an elegant, tranquil note to any setting.

Two sets are available, sold individually - add desired quantity to cart.
