Petite Hand-Painted French Faience Bedside Water Set - 6"

A petite French bedside water set in fine hand-painted faience, dating to the early to mid-20th century, comprising a small rounded carafe and its matching tumbler. Each piece is decorated with delicate posies of garden flowers suspended from softly undulating blue ribbon garlands, with a fine gilt line at the rim. The white ground remains bright, and the gilding is well preserved, showing only minimal signs of age. Both pieces are in very good condition with no chips. Marked “peint à la main” (hand-painted) underneath.

Charming in scale and pleasing in the hand, it is well suited to a bedside table, bringing a gentle touch of French refinement to a guest bedroom, whether used for water or as a delicate vase.
