A petite 19th-century French terre vernissée pitcher, likely from the Gard or Var, with a graceful baluster form rising to a narrow neck, a sharply pinched spout, and a pulled strap handle. The exterior is finished in a glossy amber glaze with soft olive undertones, while the lower body contrasts with areas of pale engobe and exposed clay. Inside, a warm yellow glaze provides a bright counterpoint.
Timeworn with small rim and spout chips, scattered glaze losses, and surface wear, it reflects the everyday pottery of southern France, made in rural workshops around Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie and Vallauris. Once used for serving water or wine, it now lends itself as a rustic vase for herbs, olive branches, or wildflowers. With its rich autumnal tones and natural irregularities, it brings authentic Provençal character to a kitchen shelf, a farmhouse table, or a contemporary interior softened with stone, linen, and wood.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
