This petite glazed earthenware jam pot from Savoy, France, dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. Of simple cylindrical form with a rolled rim, it shows a warm terracotta body hand-painted with a cherry motif in brown and pale yellow, complete with large paired green leaves that add a lively decorative accent. The brushwork is spontaneous and expressive, typical of the Savoyard tradition where village potters decorated utilitarian wares with quick, fluid strokes. The interior is coated in a glossy yellow enamel, both practical for cleaning and characteristic of Alpine production. Charming in scale and color, it suits open shelving or a pantry display, and can be used as a cachepot for herbs, a utensil jar, or simply as a decorative accent alongside other rustic wares.
