This petite Savoyard pitcher dates to the early 20th century and is crafted in glazed terracotta. It features a compact cylindrical body, a simple strap handle, and a neatly pinched pouring lip. The straw-cream ground is enlivened by slip-trailed vertical green and brown sprigs, punctuated with russet dots, and framed by a softly collared rim. It shows gentle age with small chips and glaze losses to the rim and lip, light staining, and surface scuffs enhancing its rustic charm.
This piece comes from the Alpine region of Savoie and was made for everyday use for pouring milk, cider, or sauces. Its simple decoration and earthy tones reflect regional craftsmanship focused on sturdy forms and repeating patterns.
This petite pitcher adds quiet color and farmhouse charm to any kitchen. It works well as a small creamer, a holder for small utensils or herbs, or a vase for wildflowers on a table. It pairs easily with other traditional pottery, bringing an authentic touch to rustic, cottage, or mountain interiors.
