This superb porcelain sign dates from the 1930s. It explains that children, women under 18 and ladies of all ages are forbidden from entering the factory on Sundays and public holidays (!). A charming and beautifully written phrase that is revealing of the culture of the time.

Etched into the porcelain reads the following:


Il est defendu aux enfants en dessous de 18 ans, filles mineures et femmes de tout age, de rentrer a l'usine les dimanches et jours fériés.


It is forbidden for children under 18, underage girls and women of any age to enter the factory on Sundays and public holidays.
