Straight from the gardens of Chanteduc, Patricia and Walter Wells's farmhouse and cooking school in Vaison-la-Romaine, this substantial carved stone planter spent its days outdoors, filled with seasonal blooms. Patricia exclaims that it is "simply beautiful!"
At Chanteduc, this planter was part of the enchanting garden that inspired so much of Patricia's cooking and entertaining, a garden that found its way into the pages of so many of her cookbooks. Today it would be equally at home on a terrace, a stone step or a courtyard corner, planted with lavender, rosemary or a tumble of seasonal flowers. Left unplanted indoors, it makes a compelling sculptural object in its own right.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
