This chest features an angled top which opens flat to transform into a writing table with eight little drawers. Beneath the top, three long drawers situate in the center flanked by matching single-door cupboards on the wings. The paneled cupboards on the wings open to reveal a single fixed shelf in the center.

All drawers open easily and feature original, oxidized brass drop-handles. Before opening the lid to use as a desk, note the two pieces of wood that can first be pulled out from either side at the top using their brass knobs to provide additional stability upon which to rest the lid. The desks sits on eight sturdy, short, straight and tapered feet. Fluting and pretty carved accents adorn the front panels and the top lid. A truly delightful secretary desk chest of drawers for any library, bedroom or living room setting. Writing desk key included.
