This extremely rare French sangsue jar dates from the nineteenth-century. The large scale and stunning cobalt blue glass make this a very notable find. Originally sangsue (leech) jars were used by doctors and pharmacists for holding medical leeches. These jars look wonderful when displayed in a collection or filled with precious finds such as seashells or candy.
