A striking 19th-century French wall mirror, this piece is framed by a molded, stepped surround in the classic arched Louis Philippe silhouette. The border is richly hand-painted in diagonal bands of deep crimson and warm coral, executed in a faux marble finish that evokes veined hardstone. The inner moldings are finished in a deep wine-toned burgundy, adding depth and a warm, tonal contrast as the profile steps inward toward the original mirror plate. The original glass retains beautiful age-related blooms and gentle speckling, which soften the reflection and lend the mirror a nuanced, atmospheric presence.
This rare piece makes a bold statement, bringing warmth and strong visual presence to any interior. Its rich red tones draw the eye, while the graphic faux marble border and speckled antique glass add depth and character, creating a memorable focal point above a mantel, console, or in a powder room. Hang it where a touch of color and an air of history are desired, and let its originality anchor a collected, timeless room.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
