Dating from the late nineteenth / early twentieth century, this rare 'Cocotte a canard' has two beaks and a handle. One can sense the way the clay was squeezed by the potter to make the oval shape. It is glazed with brown ocher on the inside and on the handle. Made in Vallauris - note the maker's mark. A lovely, rare piece to add to a collection of antique French pottery.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
