Rare Antique French Walnut Entertaining Cabinet w/ Lift-Top

A richly patinated late 19th-century walnut demilune bar cabinet, formerly used in a French fine dining restaurant, this piece combines refined craftsmanship with distinctive, purposeful design. The hinged top folds back to reveal a fitted interior with tiered shelves for stemware and a circular metal ice well, allowing for elegant tableside or salon service. Its semicircular form gives it a sculptural presence, making it as striking visually as it is functional. The curved façade is articulated with crisp neoclassical paneling, brass rosette pulls, a fluted apron, and tapered legs that lend the cabinet a poised, architectural stance. Three drawers animate the apron, with a fixed central front and cleverly engineered side drawers that open on a bias, a subtle yet sophisticated detail of the original design.

The walnut surface has developed a warm chestnut tone with a soft, inviting sheen. Age-related cracks to the wood and scattered losses and restorations are visible upon close inspection, all consistent with long and dignified service. The keys are no longer present.
