A marvelous oval Regency period giltwood frame from the seventeenth century. Expertly crafted, this beautiful antique frame is adorned with foliage, acorns, and flowers. Most likely it was originally a frame for a portrait. With close inspection of photographs, minor fissures in the gilding are evident, and to be expected due to its centuries old age.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
