Regency period upholstered French bergere armchair - 18th-century

This elegant French armchair from the Regency period (1715-1723) exemplifies Parisian craftsmanship with its small scale and open sides. Known as a "Bergère d'époque Régence," it is made of walnut wood and features finely sculpted details, including shells, foliage, and acanthus leaves. The chair stands on out-turned cabriole legs and is newly upholstered in a blue and beige floral silk fabric, which is in perfect condition. The armchair retains its original integrity without any restorations. It originates from a prestigious hôtel particulier in Nîmes (Gard). A lovely piece for a bedroom, study or living room.
