This rustic oak chandelier, dating from the 19th century, is crafted in the Louis XV style and features twelve lights arranged in two blanced tiers of six. The substantial turned central column showcases graceful baluster curves, while scrolling arms, carved with acanthus leaf motifs, extend to support candle-style lights with faux wax drip sleeves. The combination of finely carved details and solid oak construction gives the piece both elegance and presence. Its warm, timeworn patina, with gentle fading and minor wood losses, enhances its authentic antique character. One arm has detached from its plate, but the old repair remains nearly invisible when hung. The mounting fixture has been replaced with a more recent one for stability and ease of installation; newer screws are visible at the top but remain discreet, especially when the chandelier is hung.
With its hand-carved detailing and balanced proportions, this chandelier makes a striking focal point in any setting, whether suspended in a grand entryway or above a rustic dining table. Combining the graceful ornamentation of the Louis XV style with the sturdy presence of solid oak, it is equally at home in a farmhouse interior or in a more contemporary space, where it can add a touch of heritage and character.
