This splendid Santibelli crèche religious tabletop decoration depicts a king waiting with awe to visit baby Jesus. He is robbed in gilded cloth with one hand on his heart and one hand resting on a gilded pillow atop a column. Tole and paper flowers decorate either side of the embellished blue and gold base. This painted terracotta figure was made in Marseille, France, in the nineteenth century most likely by Italians who lived there at the time. This figure make a wonderful addition to seasonal crèche as nativity scene decoration and as a gift at Christmas.
