Sculptural Gilt-Metal Rose and Ribbon Table Lamp w/ Fringed Shade - 9¾" x 15¼"

This unusual table lamp is formed from a finely modeled gilt-metal flowering branch, with naturalistic rose stems, buds and veined leaves intertwined with a curling ribbon motif. The composition extends almost horizontally, giving the piece a low, distinctive silhouette. It may have been created from an earlier lighting element, perhaps part of an early-20th-century chandelier or wall light, and later imaginatively adapted as a single-light table lamp. The small burgundy velvet shade, made specifically for the piece, is finished with gold braid and long metallic fringe, giving it a rich, boudoir-like character. It softens the light and can be tilted to adjust the angle.

This is very much an accent light, designed to cast a small pool of warm, atmospheric illumination. Its low, spreading silhouette would be particularly appealing on a bedside or dressing table, bringing a discreet note of romance and eccentricity.
