A charming little Paris flea-market find from Patricia and Walter Wells’s collection, displayed for many years in their apartment on rue du Bac. Its slender, sculptural form rests on a delicate tripod base, with a flared stem and softly scalloped rim. Designed to work equally well as a petite candlestick or solifleur vase, it has the pleasing ingenuity and character of an object collected simply because it caught the eye.
