From Patricia and Walter Wells’s apartment in Paris, a set of twelve vintage Bernardaud Limoges porcelain bowls with lids, each signed beneath from her personal collection. Their modern, elegant, very flared silhouette feels light in the hand yet poised on the table; the crisp white glaze catches the light with a gentle sheen, and faint throwing rings reveal the maker’s touch. Patricia recalls, “We often used these inverted as lids on the matching bowls to keep things hot,” a simple, clever habit that reflects her intelligent hospitality. The broad set of bowls is available for separate purchase.
Generous and open in profile, these bowls suit soups and broths from the garden, a bowl of rice, or early fruit, and they stack neatly between gatherings. Their clean geometry pairs naturally with the matching soup plates and bowl sets available for separate purchase, creating a cohesive service that moves with ease between Paris and Provence. Made in Limoges porcelain and shaped by daily life in a cook’s house, they bring authority without pretension to the table. Display them on open kitchen shelving, then carry them to the table with lids inverted as warmers for a refined, practical service.
Note: one bowl bears a small chip on the rim.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
