“They’re great for keeping herbs and spices,” Patricia explains of this set of five antique opaline glass jars from Chanteduc, her farmhouse and cooking school in Vaison-la-Romaine.
Each jar is made from milky white opaline glass and retains its original tin lid, now aged to a soft grey. They were most likely originally used in a French pharmacy for ointments, creams or other preparations.
Compact and practical, they can be used for herbs and spices in the kitchen, or for cotton pads, salts and small toiletries in a bathroom. The jars vary slightly in height and look particularly good grouped together on a shelf or worktop.
Light wear.
