This exquisite set of six antique English knives, dating to around 1900, features elegant bone handles paired with stainless steel blades. Each blade is engraved with “Atkin Brothers Sheffield Stainless Steel,” a mark of the renowned craftsmanship associated with this historic cutlery maker. The Atkin Brothers were a prominent silversmith and cutlery manufacturer based in Sheffield, England, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their cutlery, known for its quality and durability, was widely exported throughout Europe, including to France. It was not uncommon for well-to-do French households of the time to use English steel cutlery for everyday meals,  appreciated for its elegance, resilience, and practicality.
