Bring the relaxed charm of a French summer table to your home with this beautiful set of six fish-shaped plates from Digoin & Sarreguemines, one of France's most esteemed ceramic manufacturers. Each plate is stamped on the underside with the Digoin & Sarreguemines maker's mark, together with a production number dating the set to between 1932 and 1942. They are in very good vintage condition with a few tiny chips, light surface scratches, and minor areas of discolouration, all consistent with age and careful use.
Crafted from glazed earthenware, each plate features a soft ivory centre framed by a subtle gradient of smoky grey and salmon pink. Fine ribbing around the rim evokes the texture of fins, while delicate modelling around the head brings the fish motif to life, creating an elegant yet playful design.
Whether serving freshly grilled fish, seafood platters, or vibrant seasonal salads, these plates lend an effortless coastal charm to any gathering. Their soft palette pairs beautifully with olive green linens, Rosaline glassware, woven rattan, and weathered wood for a relaxed yet refined summer tablescape.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
