Set of 8 Antique French Sarreguemines Barbotine Asparagus Plates

A set of eight Sarreguemines barbotine asparagus plates from Patricia Wells’s table at her Paris apartment, France, circa 1900. Patricia explains, “I love these, so special and unique. The French have a lot of single-use objects; you are not going to put carrots on that plate.” From her personal collection, they reflect the rituals of the French table that shape her world of cooking, markets, gardens and shared meals. Glazed earthenware with crisp relief, each plate is molded with a bundle of spears across the center.
