Set of eight elegant British silver-plated copper goblets from the mid-20th century. Each features a gently flared conical bowl rising from a waisted stem to a stepped circular foot with a discreet beaded border; the silvering has a cool, luminous sheen, while the copper core lends subtle warmth at the edges. Nicely proportioned and comfortable in hand, the set is in good condition, showing a soft overall patina with faint surface scratches and light marks from use, including a gentle interior patina from service. Their restrained silhouette echoes classical chalices, a form revived in the 20th century, from the streamlined elegance of Art Deco to the renewed taste for metal tableware in the 1970s. Finished in electroplated silver over copper, they offer pleasing weight and durability.
A refined addition to a bar cart or dining table, they lend a quiet sparkle to gatherings. Set them on a silver-plated or mirrored tray, or mix them with crystal and hotel silver for a layered service. They would also look beautiful lined along a mantel or windowsill with petite stems. Their understated elegance suits traditional, modern, and minimalist settings with equal ease.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
