A set of eight wrought iron garden chairs dating to the late 20th century, circa 1970s–1980s, defined by their slender, architectural silhouette and balanced proportions. The slatted strap-iron seats are paired with rounded rectangular backs punctuated by graphic ring motifs, lending a subtle decorative rhythm to the otherwise linear design. The original pale blue paint has gently worn over time, revealing glimpses of bare metal and light oxidation that contribute to an appealing, naturally aged patina. Square legs with low stretchers ensure stability, while the gently curved slatted seats would easily accommodate bespoke cushions for added comfort. Weathered by outdoor exposure yet structurally sound, the chairs retain a confident, airy presence enhanced by an appealing, softly developed patina. One chair is missing a side stretcher, though this does not affect its overall stability.
They are particularly well suited to terraces, conservatories, or poolside settings, where they gather naturally around a stone, iron, or weathered wood table, their cool palette and open construction maintaining a calm, airy atmosphere. Simple linen or canvas cushions would soften the seats without disturbing their graphic clarity. Indoors, they would sit comfortably in a sunroom or open breakfast nook, gently bridging house and garden.
