A set of five small vintage spoons from the farmhouse at Chanteduc, Patricia and Walter Wells's home in Vaison-la-Romaine — the kind of piece that belongs on a well-laid breakfast table. Small enough for a jam pot or a coffee cup, they are precisely the spoons one reaches for when stirring honey into tea, lifting a spoonful of fig jam onto a tartine, or setting beside a small cup of espresso for guests.
Each spoon has a gently rounded oval bowl and a slim, tapering handle that widens slightly at the tip. The finish is softly matte, worn to a warm, brushed pewter tone that speaks to years of use.
Today they would look equally at home arranged in a small ceramic pot on a kitchen shelf, tucked into a linen-lined drawer, or laid out beside coffee cups for an informal gathering.
Light wear.
