A set of four 19th century beech chairs from Provence, with beautifully carved motifs, a ladder back and rush seat. The Gustavian style came from King Gustave of Sweden. Following a visit to Louis XVI’s court at the Palace of Versailles, King Gustav brought the aesthetic to Sweden and the result was a stylish and simplified version of the highly decorative furniture found at the Palace.
