Set of Four Whimsical Fitz & Floyd "French Market" Canapé Plates, Circa 2000s - 10¾"

This delightful set of four majolica-style canapé plates was produced by Fitz & Floyd for the French Market collection, dating from approximately 2002 to 2006. Finished in a colorful, glossy glaze, each plate is centered with an adorable piglet in low relief, framed by a bountiful border of garden vegetables including lettuce, onion, artichoke, beet, radicchio, and asparagus, rendered in soft ivory, blush, sage, and berry tones. The reverses bear the Fitz & Floyd French Market mark and are factory pierced for wall display. The set remains in very good vintage condition, with bright, vibrant glazes, light surface wear consistent with gentle use, and no visible chips or cracks.

Founded in Dallas in 1960, Fitz & Floyd became renowned for its imaginative ceramics inspired by European decorative traditions. The now-discontinued and highly collectible French Market collection celebrates the abundance and conviviality of the French countryside, drawing inspiration from the richly modeled majolica and barbotine wares of the late 19th century.
