This charming set of three pressed-flower compositions likely dates from the early 20th century and appears to have originated as pages from a Jerusalem souvenir album of Flowers of the Holy Land. The cards are identified as Flowers from Hebron, Flowers from Siloah, and Flowers from the Valley of the Jordan. Each includes a short biblical quotation in Hebrew referring specifically to the place depicted, followed by the name of the flowers or location, while German, French, and English captions below reflect the international travelers for whom these souvenirs were produced.
Each arrangement has its own distinctive character: the Hebron composition rises in a delicate, vine-like form with small red accents, the Siloah example spreads into a finely balanced fan, while the Jordan Valley card is especially decorative, with dried flowers and foliage arranged to spill from a stylized urn. The cards are now presented under glass in simple pale wood frames of a later date, whose understated finish keeps the focus on the fragile floral work. Gentle toning, minor spotting, and small losses are consistent with age and the delicate nature of the pressed material.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
