These three vintage glass insect traps, likely dating to the early-to-mid 20th century, were designed to attract and capture wasps or fruit flies. Made from clear pressed glass, their rounded bellies and short necks create an effective shape for luring insects in with sweet liquid bait, making it difficult for them to escape. Once in use, the traps would typically be hung in orchards, gardens, or near outdoor dining areas, helping to protect ripening fruit and keep mealtime settings free from pests. Unlike earlier hand-blown versions, these were molded for more uniform production, yet they retain a charming, utilitarian aesthetic deeply rooted in rural French tradition.

Today, these glass traps transcend their original purpose, becoming evocative decorative accents that bring a touch of rustic French charm to kitchens and patios. Once a familiar sight in orchards and farmhouse kitchens, they now make striking display pieces, whether grouped for a sculptural effect, repurposed as petite vases holding freshly cut stems, or styled on a weathered table as a subtle nod to the pastoral beauty of rural life.
