Shell shaped cast iron fountain element 20¾"

A lovely cast iron element from a fountain, made in the shape of a shell. It was probably part of a fountain with four sides - each with the same shell. There are two iron bars for resting a bucket or pitcher to collect water - there are drainage holes in the bottom. Early nineteenth-century.
