A rustic 19th-century terracotta pot from southwest France, likely used in the kitchen for sauces or herb preparations. The wide, tapered form is finished with a pale yellow glaze over the rim and interior—typical of regional culinary wares designed to hold liquids or warm mixtures. Smoke-darkened traces on the underside suggest use over a hearth.
Today, it serves beautifully as a vide-poche, a serving bowl for nuts or olives, or a vessel for dried flowers.
