Kalyne [Kalyne] is a small oil on cardboard, composed as a tight square portrait of a small, fluffy dog centered against a richly brushed crimson ground. The artist builds the fur with short, feathery strokes and light impasto in cream, pale gold, and soft white, setting bright, beadlike eyes and a charcoal nose in gentle contrast.
