Le Chien de Lola [Lola’s Dog] is an oil on cardboard rendered in warm earth tones of ochre, umber, and mossy green, with soft touches of cream and rose at the cow’s muzzle. The composition is intimate, framed by the suggestion of a stable doorway at left, where a gentle, blond-coated cow leans in toward the viewer while a small, shaggy brown dog peers over the ledge at right. The brushwork is loose and velvety, building subtle texture in the cow’s fur and catching light along the edges of the forms, while the background remains softly blurred.
