Le saut de l’ange [The Angel’s Leap] is an oil on cardboard composed with soft impasto and delicate, veil-like layers of color. A dark, charcoal-black cat is captured mid-leap, stretched horizontally across a square field of muted greys with veils of blue-grey and warm ochre that read as drifting clouds. The figure is simplified yet tactile, its fur suggested by small, broken strokes, while the background dissolves into atmospheric, feathered passages that heighten the sensation of motion.
