This charming little Savoie pitcher dates from the early 20th century and has the simple, sturdy handmade shape typical of traditional pottery from the region, although it feels surprisingly light in the hand. Its straight cylindrical body has a gently flared rim with a small pouring spout and a generous C-shaped handle. The warm brick-red glaze is decorated with scattered cream polka dots applied by hand, while the interior is finished in a soft buttery-yellow glaze. The surface has lovely variations in tone, with light wear and a few small chips around the edges, all consistent with its age and use.
The cream dots against the warm red background give this pitcher a playful, graphic quality that feels surprisingly modern. It would look lovely on a kitchen shelf, holding wooden utensils or a small bunch of dried flowers, or among a collection of colorful French country pottery. A watertight insert is recommended if using fresh flowers.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
