Stately 18th Century Louis XV Walnut Commode - 39"

A generously scaled mid-18th-century French walnut chest of drawers with a warm, honeyed patina and softly contoured lines. The subtly serpentine front is crowned by a shaped top and fitted with three rows of drawers, comprising two short drawers above two long drawers, each framed by molded cartouches that emphasize the gentle curvature of the façade. A scalloped apron flows into short cabriole feet, lending the piece an elegant sense of movement. Brass pulls and keyhole escutcheons provide a mellow contrast to the figured walnut. The locks are decorative only, as the key is no longer present.

This piece brings quiet warmth to an entry, living room, or bedroom, where its notably tall scale and softly undulating profile lend presence without excess.
