A striking cache-pot in barbotine (majolica), featuring elegant Greek-style scrolling handles and an opulent hand-painted floral decoration. The surface is adorned with blooming flowers, applied with thick, expressive brushstrokes that create a subtle textured effect, set against a beautifully graduated ground of deep green and pink tones.
This sculptural jardinière is signed Jérôme Massier under the base. Jérôme Massier Fils (1850–1916) was a leading figure in the celebrated Massier family of ceramists, active in Vallauris in the late 19th century, and played a key role in elevating Vallauris pottery to international prominence during this period.
The piece remains in good condition, with a chip on the rim and light wear consistent with age.
