Each is formed as a tapered ovoid lantern, sheathed in hundreds of translucent mother-of-pearl petals and small white shells arranged in dense rosettes over a wire armature. Suspended from brushed metal canopies, they are handcrafted with a remarkable sense of texture and richness. When illuminated, the shells reveal delicate natural veining, casting a soft, dappled halo of light. In good condition, with gentle age toning, a few tiny nicks to some edges, and natural irregularities inherent to the shells. Substantial in presence yet visually light and refined.
